We dyed 120 eggs and the masses were barely satisfied.
Our favorite technique was sprinkling crayon shavings on top of hot eggs. I have a suspicion that decorating eggs will make it onto the Advent list this year. Because it’s just too much fun.
And since that kind of fun was exploding everywhere I thought it was a good time to organize the craft drawer. Which is my favorite thing to do.
Sweeping under the kitchen table is my less favorite thing to do. In other words, I love gnats and hate camels.
We had my sister Violet over for Easter dinner. You know, the one with gold taps, sauna, and room for a pony?
I bought her teenagers Easter baskets and Matchbox cars and had them hunt eggs with the little kids. They were sweetly accommodating.
Okay, who hid the egg in the toilet plunger?
And in the trees.
There were lots of eggs in trees. Lots of eggs everywhere.
170 including the plastic ones.
Then we went on a treasure hunt. Gideon and Jehu took this very seriously.
Jehu was eating the clues as he found them. And then Gideon would pound him into the dirt.
Treasure was eventually had.

I call it a good time.
