I had to run into Savers the other day. And I saw this dress. I got a dirty look on my face, threw it in my cart, and thought, “Dang-it, now I have to buy this dress.” There were no two ways about it. I looked at the price tag merely out of curiosity. Fifteen bucks! You have to be kidding me. I marched off to checkout. I didn’t even try it on. It was a completely obligatory purchase.
AND it doesn’t even fit. Unless you call not being able to breathe, bend over, and requiring the help of an able bodied male to put it on, fitting. We do what we have to.
But such squabbles are all irrelevant. Even though I could sell it on Ebay for $125, I’m not going to. It’s Banana Republic, it’s silk, and it’s mine. I’ll let you know when I lose 5 pounds.
Incidentally, the heels are also Banana Republic. I bought them at a yard sale this summer for $1. The bag is Coach (thrift), the earrings are vintage, and the bracelet is black walnut turned on my brother’s lathe.
Total = $16
